Vasamuseet (Vasa Museum)

Sweden’s most visited museum holds the warship Vasa, built on behalf of Vasa King Gustavus Adolphus, which sank during its virgin travel at the Stockholm port in the year 1628. Exactly 333 years later in 1961 it was secured in one piece from the ports ground. The carefully restored derelict is exposed in the main hall of the VASA Museum. The beautiful location of the museum, directly at the sea on the island Djurgrden, is in fact a further attraction. Tour guides are available for hire in English from Mo-Fr around 12.30 and 14.30 o'clock and Saturdays at around 10.30 and 16.30 o'clock.

Stadshuset (The City Hall)

The Stockholm city hall, voted as Sweden’s most beautiful building, was built in 1911. The art nouveau architecture style was drafted by Ragnar Östberg. Situated inside are the impressive premises of the city administration, among other things the golden hall with its glass and gold mosaics. The tower offers a far panorama view over Stockholm. The blue hall of the building hosts the Nobel price banquettes. The city hall can be visited only on one of the regularly taking place guidance’s, the tower however can be visited without restrictions during the opening times.
