Barcelona Attractions - Las Ramblas!

Barcelona is a very versatile and open minded city. There are many ways you to get to know the characteristics of Barcelona, because there is much to do in the exclusive metropolis of Catalonia. A City-stroll through the different quarters of Barcelona starting with the "Ramblas", the gothic quarters, lively plazas and the sea side. Visit some of the many cathedrals and other monumental buildings in Barcelona and witness the art of Antoni Gaudí in the Parc Güell and the Sagrada Familia. Experience Barcelona at night, browse markets or visit museums and art centres.

Las Ramblas

If you start off with a walk through the city centre, the first thing most tourists do is to visit the “Ramblas”, it’s a very lively place. The Ramblas will give a good first impression of what Barcelona is like. You will find street artists from all over the world, little shops and road cafes. The “Ramblas” is divided into seven subsections and in each section you will find different characteristics reflecting the architecture and lifestyle of the city. The upper section is called Rambla Canaletes, where the Canaletes-Fountain and a hub of bus connections is located. As with many fountains, this too has a superstition - that one who drinks from its water will return again and again to Barcelona.
In reality of course nobody needs to drink from this water in order to have the desire to return to Barcelona. I think the citiy's ambience and attractions has the same effect. It is not a difficult task to recognize Barcelona’s charm. If you stroll along the tiny side lanes of “Ramblas”, you will discover some of the most beautiful plazas I have ever seen and some of the real Barcelona nightlife.
