Train Travel in France - TGV Trains are fast and efficient!
The SNCF is the national rail service in France. The TGV trains
are punctual most of the time, comfortable, affordable and most
of all very fast. The TGVs average speed is about 255 kph (160 mph)
on the Lyon south-east line and 300 kph (190 mph) on the Lille and
Bordeaux south-west lines which makes this train the second fastest
of the planet.
The TGV trains are certainly an alternative to plains
as one of the fastest domestic means of transportation in France.
TGV trains operate on a number of travel destinations such as between
Paris and Lille/Calais, Paris and Brussels, Paris and Amsterdam,
Paris and Lyon-Switzerland-Provence, Paris and Angers – Nantes,
and Paris and Tours-Poitiers-Bordeaux; When you seek discounts on
train tickets in France, book well in advance especially with the
TGV and Eurostar. As it is the case with all trains in France you
can be charged a small percentage on top of the standard ticket
price at peak hours.
